FREE Income Tax Prep

United Way of Greater Atlanta provides free tax preparation services to the community through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and coalition partners in the community. VITA is available to individuals with incomes up to $67,000 and MyFreeTaxes is available to individuals with incomes up to $84,000. Sign up to receive email updates on our VITA services.
Type of Tax Prep Service:
Classic VITA: Classic VITA provides fully in-person tax preparation. Eligible taxpayers can visit a Classic VITA site in-person and receive tax preparation services on-site from a certified tax preparer that includes a quality review process before their tax return is finalized and filed. This process can take anywhere from 45 minutes to a couple of hours depending on how complicated the return is.
